The PushX3 is basically a set of push up bars with a round surface on the bottom instead of the flat platform you would expect from traditional push up handles.  While this might seem like an insignificant difference at first glance, try a few reps with these little bad boys and you’ll see what a huge difference this slight variation can make.

PushX3’s are mostly composed of high quality, durable plastic.  The handle portion is coated in a rubber material to enhance your grip without becoming slippery.  A solid square metal bar runs through the center of the handles and is locked in place by steel bolts to prevent the grip from spinning while using your PushX3’s.

With regular old fashioned pushups, the hands are kept in a bent backwards position to stay in contact with the ground.  This can be hell for anyone with wrist issues.  In the past, the only way to avoid this type of wrist pain was to do pushups on the knuckles or to completely forgo push ups all together. Typical push up handles are one solution, but PushX3’s take a leap forward in terms of eliminating wrist pain.
PushX3 push up bars significantly reduce stress on the wrists, while requiring much more full body isometric tension than regular push ups.  While griping the handles, the hands remain in relatively vertical alignment with the elbows unlike with regular push ups variations.  This frees you up to concentrate on getting an effective workout instead of working around your wrist issues.

The smooth bottom portion allows you to get creative with your exercise variations.  You can do much more than just push up exercises.  While on a carpeted surface, you can slide the hands out in front or pull the hands backward for pike exercises and really target the core musculature.  You can also freely rotate the hands while doing your pushing variations to create a twisting motion.  For example, you can start with the hands in a horizontal position and rotate the hands vertical at any point during the repetition.  Another option is to slide the hands out wide to the sides, targeting the outer pecs and shoulders.

Not only can you freely rotate the hand position during your exercises, but you can also change hand location mid-exercise without worrying about the pushing surface remaining parallel to the floor.  For example, typical push up handles are usually made of a two flat surfaces with a curved bar in-between.  It’s generally unsafe to pick up one handle and move it in the middle of doing an exercise repetition.  If you do have the inclination to change hand positions, you must either pay close attention to what you’re doing or be fresh enough that you can pick up and put down the handle with little thought as to whether or not it will land flat.  This can be very difficult not to mention unsafe if performed under fatigue.

With PushX3 handles, there is no flat surface to worry about.  With the round surface in contact with ground, changing hand positions requires very little mental focus.  Thinking to yourself, “I want my hand to be over there now,” you simply put the handle down anywhere you want and immediately it lands in a safe position.  The primary limiting factor is your ability to maintain control over the unstable surface.
